Bankside Gallery is the home of the Royal Watercolour Society

Situated in central London on the south bank of the River Thames, Bankside Gallery is just across the Millennium Bridge from St Paul’s Cathedral and next door to Tate Modern.

Bankside Gallery was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1980 and since then has become known as a centre of excellence for works on paper. The RWS share the gallery with the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (also known as the RE) and the two historic art societies hold regular joint exhibitions of works made in water-based media and original prints.
