RWS Contemporary Watercolour Competition

The RWS Contemporary Watercolour Competition is an annual competition open to non-Members. It aims to encourage innovation and experimentation in water-based painting including watercolour, acrylic, gouache, pen and ink and watercolour mixed media.

This prestigious competition provides professional artists with an established and internationally recognised platform on which they can exhibit their work. Prizes are awarded during the Competition with previous winners including James Faure Walker ARWS and Bridget Moore ARWS.  This year we have a new prize, 'The Jackson's Art Young Artist Prize' which will be awarded to an artist under the age of 30.

This year the judges include; Richard Cork, art critic, broadcaster and curator and Andrea Rose, British Council curator as well as the President of the RWS, Thomas Plunkett. For further information regarding submissions please download the entry pack opposite.
