Alessandra Genualdo is an Italian illustrator and painter based in East London, where she works from her studio in Hackney Wick. She graduated with an MA in illustration from the Camberwell College of Arts in 2012. Her work is realised in gouache and coloured pencil, taking inspiration from what surrounds her, nature and the female figure. Alessandra’s pictures express her perception of being a woman, our relationship with the objects that surrounds us every day, the characters’ connection with nature through elements of greenery and flowers, and the positive connotation of solitude. Her client list ranges from magazines to fashion brands. Alessandra’s work has been exhibited in the UK, Spain, Belgium, Poland, China and South Korea. She is also an illustration tutor at the Chelsea College of Arts, part of the University of the Arts of London.
