With its Royal patronage, the RWS is an organisation whose history is rooted in the British artistic tradition. The intention of the Society is to carry forward this longstanding medium into the contemporary art world.
 
The RWS welcomes approaches from sponsors to aid us in our work and enable us to continue to educate and excite the public about watercolour.

Exhibition Sponsorship
Our exhibitions attract vistors from all over the world and showcase the finest works made in water-based media. Royal Watercolour Society exhibitions take place twice annually at Bankside Gallery and centre around topical themes and those of interest to our audience. Past and present RWS exhibition sponsors include Cass Art and The Financial Times.

 

Sponsors of our exhibitions can expect to receive:
  • Credit as lead sponsor in all printed and digital marketing material
  • Inclusion in our e-newsletter reaching around 15,000 engaged subscribers
  • Logo placement on all printed and digital marketing material including hard copy private view invitations and gallery external signage
  • Opportunities to make the formal address at the exhibition opening

Education Programme Sponsorship
The RWS deliver an extensive programme of workshops, talks and events to coincide with each of their exhibitions, taking place twice annually at Bankside Gallery. The programme attracts artists and art-lovers alike, providing them with a range of interactive events such as demonstrations, artist talks, social activities, and tutorials.

Partnerships
Depending on your marketing aims, it may be more suitable to forge an ongoing partnership with the RWS. In recent years we've joined forces with art materials brands to produce educational films and deliver events. Partnerships can allow both the Royal Watercolour Society and their partner organisation to promote awareness with audiences outside of their existing demographic but with mutual interests.

Prizes
The RWS Contemporary Watercolour Competition provides established and emerging artists with a platform to exhibit and promote their work through the Society. The extensive list of attractive prizes gives entrants the incentive to put their best efforts into their work in water-based media. Sponsoring a prize allows external organisations to opportunity to encourage and nurture an emerging artist whilst also promoting your brand.
