Linda Saul

ELECTED ARWS 2021 & RWS 2024

Linda Saul the landscape in all its forms—urban, rural, coastal, and wild—fascinated by the ways it transforms over time through the changing seasons, human influence, climate shifts, and nature’s own resilience. At the heart of her practice is collage: by incorporating diverse paper surfaces, she expands the textural range of water-based media. Through layered applications of watercolour and acrylic, she pushes the boundaries of traditional technique to create works rich in depth and texture.

In recent years, Linda has been particularly inspired by the striking landscapes of Iceland, which she visits regularly for artist residencies. Working on location, she sketches and photographs her surroundings, gathering material that later informs her more contemplative studio paintings.

She has also developed a series of semi-abstract “mindscapes,” where imagination meets the unpredictable beauty of water-based media. Embracing accident and spontaneity, these works evoke imaginary landscapes shaped by both intuition and chance.
