Anne Marlow

ELECTED ARWS 2014 & RWS 2017

Born in Bedford, Anne began her art school training in Luton then onto Birmingham and finally the Royal Academy Schools.

Although she has worked in oils, acrylics, and various print techniques, she continues to work in watercolour as she loves its luminosity and transparency.

Years of sketching and observation drawing from the natural world as well as collections of natural and man-made objects, such as a Noah's ark or Indian toys, trigger images in her mind's eye, compelling her to take up a brush or pastel and just start to paint.

An overland trip to India and a year's scholarship in Greece made a significant impression on Anne and are enduring sources of ideas and compositions.

Anne has exhibited at the then BP Portrait award at the National Portrait Gallery, NEAC, RBA, and the RWS Open Exhibitions.
