London based, self-confessed 'art-oholic', Tim Sayer, a retired BBC Radio 4 newswriter, with his wife Annemarie Norton, a former ballet dancer, have pledged their entire collection of more than 400 works - ceramics, sculptures, paintings and works on paper, as well as a significant library of books - to The Hepworth Wakefield in their will. 52 art works from their collection have already been given to the gallery in West Yorkshire, but the remaining works are housed in his home in North London.
A rare opportunity to see the collection in situ has arisen with Tim Sayer offering to take a select group around house, and accompanied by some knowledgeable Royal Watercolour Society and Royal Society of Painter-Printmaker members. It promises to be a stimulating and informative morning.
The nearest station is Highbury and Islington on the Overland and Victoria lines. We will meet at the house for a 10am - 12pm tour but the address will only be emailed to those booked on to the tour the night before.
