Sadie Tierney

ELECTED ARWS 2026

Sadie Tierney studied Fine Art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne before completing an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art. Alongside her own painting and printmaking practice, she has taught at institutions including Eton College Drawing Schools and Glasgow School of Art.

Working from Binnel Studios on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, Sadie draws continual inspiration from the shifting light, weather and landscape that surround her. Her paintings explore the character of place through a distinctive visual language that reflects both her printmaking background and her close observation of the environment.

She has exhibited widely across the UK, with solo exhibitions at Rabley Gallery, Eton College, Angela Flowers Ireland and Flowers East. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the National Museum in Gdańsk, the Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York, Pallant House Gallery, Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery, the Royal West of England Academy, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Cunard's Queen Anne Collection and the Royal College of Art.

Sadie lives in Ventnor with her illustrator husband, their two daughters, two dogs and two ponies.
