RWS Summer School: Drawing with the Brush: with Sophie Knight RWS

Discover how expressive brushwork can bring energy and vitality to a landscape painting. Inspired by the watercolour sketches of Turner, this workshop explores how a varied combination of bold, dry and textured marks can be balanced with soft, fluid washes to create dynamic and engaging compositions.

Through demonstrations and practical exercises, participants will learn how to achieve the spontaneity and freshness often associated with painting directly in the landscape, even when working in the studio.
