This December, join us at RWS Gallery for Exploring Media, a new series of practical two-hour workshops exploring six different water-based media: watercolour, gouache, ink, acrylic, masking fluid and egg tempera.
Exploring Gouache
Discover the versatility of gouache in this practical workshop exploring its distinctive qualities and creative possibilities. Participants will use traditional water-based gouache, experimenting with paint consistency, colour mixing and vibrancy.
Through a series of playful exercises, the session will explore how colour and mark-making can be used to create expressive compositions, develop observational painting skills and explore the relationship between colour and form. Participants will also consider how gouache can be used alongside collage and found materials, discovering different approaches to working with this adaptable and expressive medium.
All materials are provided.
This workshop will take place at RWS Gallery on Whitcomb Street, just off Trafalgar Square.
All bookings are non-refundable.
Exploring Media is supported by Winsor & Newton and John Purcell Paper.
