This December, join us at RWS Gallery for Exploring Media, a new series of practical two-hour workshops exploring six different water-based media: watercolour, gouache, ink, acrylic, masking fluid and egg tempera.
Exploring Acrylic
Discover the versatility of acrylic paint in this practical workshop exploring its many possibilities for drawing and painting. Participants will explore a range of techniques, from fluid washes and wet-on-wet painting to glazing, impasto and expressive mark-making. The session will consider how different approaches can influence the character of a painting, alongside the choice of brushes, paper and canvas.
Through demonstrations and practical experimentation, participants will develop a greater understanding of this adaptable medium and consider how its techniques might complement their own artistic practice, style and subject matter.
All materials are provided.
This workshop will take place at RWS Gallery on Whitcomb Street, just off Trafalgar Square.
