Royal Watercolour Society at the RWS Gallery

A year-round and evolving showcase of artworks by artists of the Royal Watercolour Society at their gallery next to Trafalgar Square. 

Bringing together some of the finest practitioners working in water-based media today, this long-term yet developing exhibition offers visitors a dedicated space in London to engage with the richness, versatility, and enduring relevance of this dynamic medium.

Showcasing paintings by current Member artists of the Society, the display provides a rare opportunity to encounter contemporary water-based painting at the highest level, whilst also being able to acquire a work to display in the home. The exhibition is continuously refreshed, ensuring that repeat visits provide a new experience and audiences are encouraged to return to rediscover the breadth of approaches within water-based media.

In order to facilitate the evolution of the exhibition over the course of the year there will be a number of periodic pauses throughout the year. Visitors are advised to check this webpage or contact us to ensure the gallery is open on your chosen visiting date. The exhibition opens for the first time on Friday 10^th April at 11am.
