Lucy Marks RWS in her studio in Worthing, West Sussex
'Being a full-time contemporary landscape painter for over 20 years, my life has been wholly devoted to art. Over that time I have been fortunate to exhibit widely across the UK and also internationally, with my work finding homes around the world. I have had the joy of holding many solo shows over the years, each one a unique and rewarding chapter in my journey. I hold a Masters Degree in Fine Art, majoring in Painting.
One of the most meaningful milestones was when I was elected as an Associate Member into the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS), a truly special community that is far more than just a Society. It is a vibrant, supportive network of artists, and I have formed some excellent art connections through the Membership. The RWS, now in its 221st year, continues to champion contemporary work while honouring a rich tradition. The support and opportunities have played a big role in the continued evolution of my own practice.

As an Associate Member, you are encouraged to participate in the Society’s two annual exhibitions at the Bankside Gallery, as well as joint shows alongside the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE). The Society also offers other opportunities to exhibit throughout the year, both in London galleries, and further afield, which I have been a part of.
I held my most recent solo show at the RWS Gallery, just off Trafalgar Square, a stunning new gallery space right in the heart of London and I am delighted to have been recently elected as a Full Member this April.'
