Discover the expressive possibilities of painting on damp paper in this full-day workshop with artist Sophie Knight RWS. Ideal for creating movement, atmosphere and energy in a landscape, the wet-on-wet technique lends itself particularly well to capturing changing weather and light, allowing colours to flow, merge and react naturally on the paper.
Rather than building up a painting through successive layers or focusing on detailed representation, you will explore watercolour as a medium for immediacy and expression. Through demonstration, Sophie will guide you as you experiment with bold colour, expressive marks and fluid washes to capture the character and energy of a landscape with confidence and freedom.
Suitable for beginners and those looking to loosen their approach in expressive landscape painting.
This workshop will take place at RWS Gallery on Whitcomb Street, just off Trafalgar Square.
