WORKSHOP: Into the Woods: Painting Trees & Forests in Watercolour: with Mark Entwisle RWS

Explore the changing light, colour and atmosphere of woodland landscapes in this watercolour workshop with Mark Entwisle RWS.

Drawing on Mark’s personal approach to watercolour, you’ll learn how to create a natural, harmonious palette inspired by the woodland. Through practical colour mixing exercises, you’ll discover how to create subtle greens, earthy neutrals and tonal variations from a limited palette.

A key focus will be capturing light and atmosphere. You’ll explore how warm and cool colours can be used alongside tone to suggest dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, deep shade and depth, while learning to simplify trees, branches and foliage into confident, expressive marks.

This course is open to all levels, but it would be beneficial to have a small amount of experience in watercolour.

This workshop will take place at RWS Gallery on Whitcomb Street, just off Trafalgar Square.
