Ann was born and educated in Scotland. She lived in Switzerland from 1961/71 and on her return to Scotland graduated with BA (Hons) Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee in 1985.
Now a full time artist, she has taught in Summer Schools and Day Classes. Her work is a statement about the land and particularly the land around the sea edge. She says, 'I am more interested in the marks made by people on the land than the overall view. From my studio window I see on one side Ochil Hills and on the other the estates of Srathallan. From a distance I can often see something is being worked on in this agricultural landscape. I have to take a walk to see what is happening.' She is known for her abstraction of the subject matter and her strong emphasis on colour as mood.
Ann works in watercolour, oil and mixed media and exhibits regularly in Scotland and England and has work in Corporate and Private Collections worldwide.
