Michael Chaplin is a hugely popular artist and teacher, known best for his appearances on the highly rated British television series, Watercolour Challenge. He has starred in a video of painting tips based on the series, and he has also written numerous articles teaching various watercolour techniques.
Michael's compositions tell a story. Full of light, texture and mood, they embody everything developing artists struggle to create in their own work. Here Michael reveals his simple, but highly effective techniques for capturing the soft light and vibrant hues that make watercolor come alive.
Michael studied at the Watford School of Art, followed by a post-graduate course in printmaking at Brighton College of Art. Formerly he worked as an art teacher, but is now a full-time professional artist.
