David was born in Dover, and educated at Farnham and Canterbury Colleges of Art. This was followed by London University Department of Education and guest student at the RA School. After teaching for 9 years he was appointed Senior Lecturer in Teacher Training.
David's paintings combine imagination and observation and acknowledge a strong literary element, in this respect they follow the English Tradition. David's paintings have been widely exhibited: Ellingham Mill, Sotheby's, Portal Gallery, New Ashgate Gallery Farnham, Singer and Friedlander, RWS Open, New English Art Club and the Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries. He has had 40 paintings hung in 26 Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions.
