John Doyle was born in 1928 in London and now lives in Ashford, Kent. He attended evening classes at Maidstone Art School and at St. Martin’s Life Classes, working with John Ward RA. He has had two solo exhibitions at Canterbury Cathedral, three at Spinks and Sons and others at Winchester Cathedral and Eton College. He shows his works with his fellow artists at Bankside Gallery, the Royal Academy and at Catto Gallery, Hampstead. John's most important commission to date was from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Coggan, for a painting of Canterbury Catherdral for Pope Pius VI. He has also published An Artist’s Journey Down the Thames.
